THE FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE

The Future of Health Care
The pandemic has changed health care in ways that will incite more change as disruptors set their sights on new health care targets. Hospitals will consider new ways to engage patients and consumers closer to their home.
Home health care will expand to determine which IP services can be performed effectively and economically.
Disruptors will expand their footprint in low-acuity traffic delivery models for inexpensive primary care services. Wal-Mart and others will grow their telehealth visits for all employees and telemedicine will become mainstream for all demographics.
Hospitals will adopt more AI tools to enhance the efficacy of diagnostics and treatment.
Immunotherapy and genomics will continue to grow in utilization as they improve survival rates for cancer.
More research will be done on the causes of disease, including cancer, heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, MS, Parkinson’s, Lupus, etc. New experimental treatments will follow as the industry strives to find new cures for disease.
We are on a journey to better health care where innovation leads to better outcomes, greater choice, and more patient self-empowerment.
The future is bright for health care, but getting there will require buy-in from all stakeholders, including hospital providers, physicians, medical schools, government, payers, the pharmaceutical industry, the farming industry, employers, and the American consumer. 2021 will be another year of change for heath care.
